IT Project Lead – Datacenter Decommissioning (M/W/D)
Tasks
Take full ownership of the datacenter decommissioning project from final migration validation through complete site closure.
Define and execute a structured decommissioning roadmap covering technical, operational, security and compliance aspects.
Validate that all infrastructure and application dependencies have been successfully migrated before shutdown.
Coordinate the controlled shutdown and removal of IT infrastructure including servers, storage, network, security appliances and workplace components.
Manage remaining infrastructure dependencies including:
Active Directory & Domain Controllers
DNS / DHCP
Default Gateways
Public IPs
VPN Gateways
Firewall Rules
WAN/LAN Connectivity
Ensure successful execution of final cutover, service validation and decommissioning activities with minimal business impact.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, Network, Security, Workplace, Application Owners, Vendors and Facility Management.
Manage physical datacenter dismantling, hardware disposal, asset tracking and secure equipment removal.
Ensure secure media sanitization and asset disposal according to corporate security policies.
Drive risk management, issue resolution and dependency tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure complete project documentation, operational handover and site closure.
Coordinate landlord handover and restoration of the facility according to contractual requirements.
Ensure all activities comply with corporate governance, audit requirements and information security policies.
Qualification
Proven experience leading Datacenter Decommissioning / Datacenter Closure projects.
Strong experience in IT Infrastructure, Datacenter Operations or Infrastructure Transformation.
Hands-on understanding of:
Windows Server
Linux
Active Directory
DNS / DHCP
Networking (LAN/WAN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, VPN)
VMware / Virtualization
Experience coordinating infrastructure shutdowns, dependency analysis and final cutover activities.
Strong knowledge of physical datacenter operations, hardware decommissioning and asset lifecycle management.
Experience coordinating vendors, facility teams and external service providers.
Experience with risk management, change management and executive stakeholder communication.
Good understanding of ISO 27001 controls related to information security, asset management, secure decommissioning and change management.
Knowledge of ITIL Change Management and ISO 22301 Business Continuity is highly desirable.
Experience with secure data destruction, media sanitization and audit documentation.
Structured, delivery-oriented and hands-on working style.

ITIL Foundation or ITIL 4
PMP / PRINCE2
Experience in regulated industries (Healthcare, Pharma, Banking)
Experience with TIA-942 or Uptime Institute standards
Experience managing datacenter exits, consolidations or site closures
