Not living with days, but filling the days with life - that is the central motto of the Ambulante Kinderhospiz München (AKM), which K-Recruiting aims to support this year through its contribution, following previous donations to animal welfare and the organization Lichtblick.

Since its establishment in 2004, the ambulatory children's hospice has been providing care for families in Munich with incurably ill or seriously ill young individuals, starting from before birth until early adulthood. The team primarily consists of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and social workers, supported by over 250 volunteers in family support, crisis intervention, and public relations.

Having an incurably ill or seriously ill child poses extreme challenges and burdens for the entire family, day after day. The goal of the AKM is to serve as a support system for all those affected in this unique situation, providing them with moments of normalcy, comfort, and security.

The range of assistance provided by the children's hospice is comprehensive. The organization supports children and their families from the moment of the initial diagnosis through all stages of the illness - and if necessary, even beyond death.

Naturally, the focus for seriously ill children is on medical and therapeutic care. The AKM views the profound impact on the lives of all family members as a unified circle of challenges. Therefore, the support provided also includes siblings and parents.

The services offered extend beyond medical concerns. They encompass practical assistance in daily life, help with administrative matters, and even financial support. Helpers are always accessible - 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

What sets the Kinderhospiz München apart is its bidirectional approach to support. The foundation not only cares for parents with sick children but also recognizes that when parents are affected by illness, equally urgent help is needed for the care of the children.
