Lead the end-to-end process of identifying, evaluating, and conceptualizing Automated Visual Inspection (AVI) technologies for IV bag production
Translate strategic innovation goals into actionable scouting and design activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory, quality, and operational requirements
Deliver a comprehensive Concept Design package, enabling seamless transition to Basic Design and project execution phases
Act as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external technology providers to drive innovation from ideation to execution
Develop URS and TechSpecs for AVI in IV bag applications
Conduct full-scale technology scouting, including vendor landscape analysis (qualified, early adopters, PoC, roadmap)
Request and analyze budgetary quotations; perform vendor evaluations using KT-analysis
Lead feasibility studies with vendors and document outcomes
Design process layouts and develop holistic Concept Designs
Facilitate supplier feedback and refine technical and commercial proposals
Recommend preferred supplier and ensure handover to Basic Design phass
Ensure execution readiness and alignment with project timelines (3–6 months)
Strong background in process engineering and visual inspection technologies, ideally in parenteral or IV bag manufacturing
Strong supplier management skills, including vendor assessment, contracting, and performance verification
Experience in URS/TechSpec development, vendor management, and feasibility studies
Experience in facilitating supplier engagement and feedback loops during concept and feasibility phases
Familiarity with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical automation
Familiarity with AI/ML applications in visual inspection, including data requirements and algorithm validation
Hands-on approach with the ability to drive execution from scouting to concept finalization Innovation
Proven ability to scout, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies (e.g. AI in AVI)
Experience with PoC, prototype testing, and early-stage technology validation
Ability to benchmark and position AVI solutions within the broader industry landscape
Capable of leading cross-functional teams and external partners
Qualification:
Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related technical field
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical engineering or related industry
Capable of leading cross-functional teams and external partners
Expertise in AVI
Demonstrated experience in implementing emerging technologies into commercial manufacturing environments
Strong project management and technical writing skills
Fluent in English (written and oral)
Travel to vendor sites and internal facilities expected (up to 30%)
