Associate Scientist Technical Development (M/F/D)
Tasks:
Independent planning, execution, documentation, and interpretation of a wide range of experiments in compound characterization and formulation development.
Conducting analytical investigations such as physicochemical characterization of drug substances and products, including solid-state analyses using techniques such as DSC, TGA, XRPD, and DVS.
Performing formulation development activities, such as solution/suspension formulation screening and characterization (e.g., visual assessment, material content, stability).
Participating in scale-up experiments and managing supply activities for pre-clinical PK and tox studies
Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, DSC, XRPD) and infrastructure
Ensuring compliance with safety and quality protocols, especially in handling chemicals, and managing potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
Qualification:
Certified Laboratory Technician or University graduate with equivalent technical/academic training (e.g., BSc/MSc in Formulation Sciences, Analytics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or Material Sciences).
Proven experience in small-scale material handling is essential.
Direct work experience in fields like formulation, analytical chemistry, or material science is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise & Skills:
Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques (HPLC/UPLC) and powder characterization analytics (DSC, TGA, XRPD, DVS).
Strong knowledge of laboratory tools, procedures, and methods commonly used in pharmaceutical or chemical R&D.
Hands-on experience in HPLC method development and stability testing is highly valued.
Familiarity with data and digital tools is a plus.
Excellent organizational and planning skills with a structured approach to problem-solving.
Ability to adapt and thrive in a highly dynamic environment, embracing an agile and flexible mindset.
Strong sense of urgency and an ability to keep customer focus front and center in all deliverables.
Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Fluency in English is essential. (Proficiency in German and/or French is an advantage).
