Senior Fluidics Hardware Designer (M/F/D)
Tasks:
Build and lead the fluidics engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Lead the end-to-end design and development of the single-use fluidic cartridge system, focusing on sample preparation, purification, and precise liquid handling and COGS.
Drive the design, production, and verification of prototypes (from early concept to pre-production units), utilizing both internal capabilities and managing external manufacturing partners.
Champion Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles, with a strong emphasis on cost-effective, high-volume production.
Conduct materials selection and testing, ensuring compatibility and performance for diagnostic applications.
Collaborate intimately with the biochip team to ensure optimal fluidic integration and system performance and the Hardware team for interfacing the cartridge to a readout device.
Manage supplier relationships for manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality (GxP) and cost targets.
Take ownership of product development planning and R&D budgeting for the fluidics subsystem
Qualification:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
