Drug discovery and preclinical development expert with a strong focus on ADME/DMPK, complemented by project and team leadership expertise.

10+ years of experience in the pharma and biotech industries

Hands-on expert in diverse translational areas (ADME/DMPK, structure-based drug design, MoA & target deconvolution, protein production and biophysical interaction determination, LC-MS/MS bioanalysis)

Strategic advisory through all phases of drug discovery (from target identification through IND-enabling and beyond)

Strong experience in regulatory interactions and filing, as well as in outsourcing management

Represent DMPK in program teams

Setting-up and implementing project specific DMPK needs

Interpret and elucidate the pharmacokinetic behavior of a drug candidate in animals considering drug absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion

Provide recommendations on drug interactions for the parallel or consecutive administration of various drugs or drug candidates

Investigate potential drug interactions with food in non-clinical models

Investigate the composition and effect of drug formulations of the pharmacokinetic behavior of drug candidates in non-clinical models

Interact with CROs for the conduct of assays evaluating the DMPK characteristics of drug candidates

Coordinate and prepare DMPK related sections in all submission relevant documents such as IB, study reports, IND dossiers documents as well as publications

Response for resolution of DMPK queries from regulatory agencies

Oversee PBPK modeling and simulations

Plans, implements & manages early drug discovery projects, help define project scope, goals, deliverables; and define tasks and required resources

Serves as leader of druggability, Hit2Lead & Lead Optimization projects while managing a team of 10 to 15 staff members

Manages budget & project resources, schedule & timeline to track deliverables and monitor progress for reporting

Presents reports on progress, barriers & solutions to key stakeholders; implements & manages change to meet project outputs

Evaluates and assesses project results for recommendations on business goals

Leads issue-oriented project meetings to mediate & resolve conflicts while driving teams to success

Directs action items between team meetings and ensure accountability of team members

Maintains project status records, databases, and key project information

Partners with all levels of management and ensures alignment throughout the organization

ADME / DMPK representative on small molecule early discovery project teams influencing project progression from H2L through to LO and nomination of further development candidate

Partner with MedChem Scientists to understand and optimize the structure-property-relationship of small molecules within drug discovery

Instruct CROs to conduct investigative DMPK studies

Support drug discovery projects through diverse scientific activities such as Drug-Target-Deconvolution, Mode-Of-Interaction analysis and structure-based drug design & protein production

Analyzed complex data with high degree of sophistication, connecting disparate datasets to reach conclusions and set direction on experiments

Support LC-MS bioanalytic lab

Deputy Manager of high-throughput protein production and purification facility

Responsible for conducting the following processes:
Automated SLIC-based High Throughput Production (HTP) cloning in multi-host expression vectors; Expression in bacterial, insect and mammalian cell culture; Isolation of high-quality recombinant proteins for structural determination; Chip-based HTP analysis of protein and DNA
