CFO (M/F/D)
Tasks:
The CFO will lead the financial, structural, and regulatory setup of a new media venture in the DACH region. Acting as a strategic partner to the CEO, the CFO ensures sound financial governance, operational control, and compliance while balancing entrepreneurial agility with corporate standards.
Establish financial governance, decision-making structures, and reporting processes aligned with group standards
Build and lead the functions of Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Tax, and Treasury
Ensure financial transparency, risk control, and operational stability
Support business growth and expansion strategy in the DACH region
Lead a cross-border finance team (4–10 FTE) across Austria, Germany, and Switzerland
Define and execute mid- to long-term financial planning and reporting structures
Set up and manage budgeting, forecasting, and KPI monitoring
Support strategic decisions with financial insights, incl. investment prioritization and pricing strategy
Oversee monthly/annual closings, audits, and internal/external reporting
Build the tax function and ensure compliance across all DACH entities
Coordinate tax audits and external advisors
Act as main contact for financial and regulatory authorities.
Establish full treasury operations and systems
Manage cash flow, accounts, and payment structures group-wide
Recruit and lead a high-performing finance team
Define efficient processes and interfaces with Group Finance and HR
Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance
Communicate financial performance to group HQ and investors
Serve as a trusted counterpart for internal and external stakeholders
Qualification:
Degree in Business Administration or a related field
10+ years of experience, including several years in senior finance leadership
Proven collaboration with executive management or board-level experience
Track record in building, scaling, or integrating business units into corporate environments
Strong command of IFRS, HGB, financial planning, and group reporting
Experience in international finance and governance structures
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and process optimization
Industry background in media, entertainment, or digital business (a plus)
Experience collaborating with legal departments on business and finance topics
Familiarity with best practices in setting up and managing business units in DACH
Fluent in German and English
