K-Team: Hi Alexander, how did you learn about K-Recruiting back then and why did you apply in the first place?
Alexander: To answer the question of how I came across K, quite traditionally via StepStone. I was already recruited for an internship at another company, but administrative reasons led to the outcome that I could not start as planned. So, I thought one door closed and another one opens. And indeed, I’ve been with K for 1,5 years and am happier than I would have thought.
What made me apply at K is that after reading the company profile, I was very curious to learn more. Also, I felt passionate about the Life Science industry. It brings so much variety and exciting topics that no day is like the other.
K-Team: You started as a working student in the Consultant Recruiting team. Then you joined us as a permanent employee, after some time changed to Consultant Management and today you support K as a Sales Manager. What do you think about that development?
Alexander: The development is very important to me. On the one hand, I could get a lot of training and gain knowledge about the different skills and roles we recruit for. On the other hand, I could get used to the different functions within K step by step, which is both very important and beneficial as an industry rookie.
In Consultant Recruiting you learn the basics of what lays the groundwork for a job in the Consultant Management and Sales Management. As Consultant Manager I enjoyed talking to so many different professionals, because you learn a lot about Life Sciences. Since September I am part of the Sales team and support our other half of clients – Life Science companies.
Many processes changed, as well as my “audience”. I enjoy this very much, too, because I enable my clients to solve problems by providing freelance consultants.
Through that journey, I now have all the pieces to put together the “recruiting puzzle” and it benefits the teamwork between the other departments as well.
I think it is great that K-Recruiting was so flexible and provided me with the opportunities to try out these different positions.
K-Team: Now that you know the different recruiting units, what did you like best in the different teams?
Alexander: In Consultant Recruiting I loved to act as a figurehead of K by focussing on the first contact with freelancers. They look for projects, we have them.
In Consultant Management I loved the “matching” part. Sometimes, it is a bit like detectives work when you have to match the background of a freelancer with a project opportunity and manage to get an interview with the companies.
In Sales Management I love the direct contact with the Life Sciences companies (for me Pharma & Biotech). My customers tell me what they need and I have the joy to deliver exactly what they need. That is very satisfying.
We make our consultants happy with that, our customers, too, and K is happy as well. TRIPLE WIN, you know 🙂
K-Team: Why do you like working here and how about your future at K?
Alexander: I honestly like to come to work every day. My colleagues are all very experienced and I learn new things all the time. Beyond that, we are a modern company with young and dynamic colleagues. Different from big corporations you have a lot of potential for your personal and professional development. The icing on the cake is that you do not only have colleagues here, but friends who meet outside the office and we all have a very good time!
Work hard, play hard 🙂
K-Team: Thank you so much Alex for sharing your success story. We hope to have you on the team for a long time to come.
